Background

HCLSoftware has announced plans to acquire Jaspersoft, an embedded analytics and reporting business, from Cloud Software Group. The move aims to strengthen HCLSoftware’s Data and AI division, Actian, by adding advanced business intelligence and reporting tools to its portfolio.

The company said Actian has grown strongly over the last five years, driven by higher demand from enterprises for data governance, metadata management, and data catalog solutions. With the addition of Jaspersoft, HCLSoftware plans to offer customers a more complete end-to-end data management and analytics experience.

Jaspersoft is known for its pixel-accurate reporting and embedded analytics features. Many organisations in government, banking, and financial services use the platform to create dashboards, data visualisations, and large volumes of standardised reports that sit directly inside their business applications.

Marc Potter, CEO of Actian and portfolio general manager for HCLSoftware’s Data and AI division, said the market is changing fast as generative AI becomes part of daily business use. He said customers now want analytics systems that offer flexibility, control, and clear ownership of their data, and that Jaspersoft will help Actian meet these needs.

Steven Schneider, general manager of the analytics business at Cloud Software Group, said Jaspersoft has built strong trust with customers worldwide. He added that HCLSoftware is well placed to take the platform forward as a long-term owner.

The companies expect to complete the transaction within six months of signing the agreement.

HCLSoftware focuses on building digital solutions that combine data, experience and operations. It supports more than 20,000 organisations globally, including most Fortune 100 companies.

Its parent company, HCLTech, employs over 226,000 people in 60 countries. In the 12 months ending September 2025, HCLTech reported $14.2 billion in revenue, showing its strong growth in digital, cloud and AI services.
