Key Background:
Hive has announced a new collaboration with eco-tech leader myenergi, integrating the company’s zappi range of EV chargers into the Hive Home app. This integration allows zappi and zappi GLO owners, some of the UK’s most popular EV chargers, to fully manage their devices and gain detailed insights into their energy consumption through the Hive app.
The partnership is designed to make home energy management simpler and more efficient. New and existing customers can download the Hive Home app for free and connect their chargers in just a few minutes. Hive highlighted myenergi as an ideal partner, citing the company’s high product performance, robust customer support, and optimisation capabilities.
Alongside device control, the integration also opens the door for customers to take advantage of upcoming optimized smart tariffs from Hive and British Gas. These tariffs are aimed at helping households save money on their EV charging while supporting a reduction in carbon emissions. Hive and myenergi are further expanding their collaboration with a special partnership package, allowing customers to purchase the zappi GLO directly through the Works with Hive website, with professional installation handled by Hive-trusted installer ChargedEV.
Hive has ambitious plans for the future of eco-tech integration. Through its Works With Hive programme, the company intends to make more than 80% of leading eco-tech devices compatible with the Hive Home app by 2026. The programme has already successfully integrated devices such as Samsung heat pumps, Sunsynk, and Fox ESS batteries and inverters.
Lisa Bunting, Head of the Works With Hive programme, said: “Hive recognises the future of home energy management lies in being able to see and control energy use in one place. We want Hive users to know their power, making it simple to save energy, reduce costs, and cut carbon.”
Ben Harris, Commercial Partnerships Manager at myenergi, added: “This partnership will allow zappi users to control their device via the Hive app while accessing some of the latest smart tariffs. Together, Hive and myenergi provide a seamless solution for managing home charging, saving time, money, and carbon footprint.”
With this integration, Hive and myenergi are taking a significant step toward making eco-smart home energy management more accessible, efficient, and beneficial for households across the UK.
